My Top 5 Wedding Venues in New York’s Hudson Valley

The Barn at Cedar Lakes Estate is dressed with Hanging vines and tall branches on the tables and white runners trailing off the ends

As a floral designer who spent years living and working in the Hudson Valley, I’ve been lucky to design weddings at some of the most beautiful venues in the region. Whether you’re dreaming of a mountaintop ceremony, a romantic farmhouse setting, or an elevated weekend escape, these five venues offer stunning backdrops, thoughtful details, and the kind of magic that makes a wedding unforgettable.

Here are my top picks. Venues I keep coming back to for their beauty, ease, and design potential.

  1. Cedar Lakes Estate

    Port Jervis, NY

This is the kind of place that makes you want to stay all weekend (and luckily, you can). Cedar Lakes Estate is a former summer camp turned luxury wedding venue with options for a mountaintop or lakeside ceremony, beautifully renovated buildings for your event, and refined cabins for your guests to stay. It’s ideal for couples who want a full wedding weekend with friends and family, and who love the idea of black-tie elegance in the middle of the woods.

Why I love it: The grounds are immaculate, the staff is on top of every detail, and the spaces are incredibly versatile—from intimate gatherings in the Chef’s Garden or Treehouse to grand receptions in the Barn. Your guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of activities on the property throughout the weekend, making your wedding a unique and unforgettable experience.

Florist notes: This is a LARGE venue, so plan for lots of installations and sculptural floral moments. The natural surroundings emphasize the benefits of working with a seasonal florist like us!

  2. Glynwood Farms

    Cold Spring, NY

Glynwood is a working farm and nonprofit tucked into the rolling hills of the Hudson Highlands. It’s rustic in the best way: wild meadows, heirloom orchards, and a stone house that feels straight out of a storybook. Every wedding here feels grounded, seasonal, and beautifully understated.

Why I love it: The farm-to-table ethos extends to every part of the experience, including catering and design. It’s a venue that honors the land, which aligns perfectly with my sustainable approach to floral design.

Florist notes: The farmhouse makes for a beautiful backdrop to your event. Keep the ceremony simple, so guests can enjoy the tremendous view of the rolling hills, and go all out with your decor in the reception tent. I love to bring the outdoor setting under the tent, complete with hanging foliage and floral clouds, to seamlessly segue guests from the farm fields to the party.

  3. Hutton Brickyards

    Kingston, NY

If you’re after something a little more industrial, but still warm, scenic, and nature-forward, Hutton Brickyards is it. This riverfront venue mixes raw brick structures with sprawling lawns and open-air pavilions, all set against the Hudson River.

Why I love it: The blank-slate feel means you can go minimal and modern or completely over-the-top. The river views at golden hour? Unreal. And when having your ceremony on the lawn, the river backdrop, complete with sailboats drifting by, is straight out of a movie.

Florist notes: High ceilings and strong architectural lines are perfect for hanging installs, large-scale arches, and dramatic lighting. I love contrasting the space with soft, garden-inspired florals to keep things balanced. It’s worth noting that the winds can be strong at this venue, so your vendors should be prepared for that!

  4. Hayfield Catskills

    Maplecrest, NY

Hayfield is charming, unpretentious, and just the right amount of DIY. Located in the heart of the Catskills, it’s the kind of place that makes guests feel immediately relaxed, with mountain views, open fields, and a cool, creative energy.

Why I love it: It’s ideal for couples who want a little freedom to make the space their own while still having a strong, stylish foundation to work from. Bonus: the owners are lovely and truly care about each wedding.

Florist notes: The barn is a beauty and takes well to both wild, whimsical designs and refined, clean aesthetics. There’s room to get creative here without overcomplicating things.

  5. Boscobel House and Gardens

    Garrison, NY

If you’re dreaming of a more classic, formal setting, Boscobel delivers. This Federal-style estate overlooks the Hudson River and is surrounded by manicured gardens and lush trees. It’s elegant without being stuffy, and the views are some of the best in the region.

Why I love it: The ceremony spot on the great lawn is iconic, with the mountains and river as your backdrop. Perfect for couples who want timeless beauty and a sense of history.

Florist notes: Boscobel works especially well with romantic, garden-inspired florals: think climbing vines, airy arrangements, and soft, seasonal color palettes. It’s all about enhancing what’s already there.
